PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum focus detected result by forming the image of light from luminous flux from plural pairs of areas of the projection pupil surface of an interchangeable lens, detecting the relative displacement of the images of light which are pairs so as to obtain the focus adjusted state signal of an image pickup lens in different areas and deciding one adjusted state finally. CONSTITUTION:An optical means 1 forms plural pairs of images of light from the luminous flux from the plural pairs of areas of the projection pupil surface of the interchangeable lens 11 and receives light with plural pairs of light receiving means 211-212,.... Plural focus detection means 31... detect the relative displacement of pairs of images of light received with pairs of light receiving means respectively and output the focus adjusting signal of the photographing lens 11 in the different areas. A reading means 4 reads information concerning the projection pupil of the interchangeable lens 11 and based on the information a selection means 5 selects a means, which is able to detect, from the focus detection means 31...3n according to the optical relation between the optical means 1 and the projection pupil of the interchangeable lens 11, then a decision means 6 decides one focus adjusted state. Since detecting action is not executed as for the focus detection means 3 which can not detect the focus and the one which can estimate the focus from first, the detected result can be obtained in a short time. |
