PURPOSE:To precisely cut rhizomatic parts of head-forming vegetables while preventing the vegetables from damaging with small driving force, by rotating blade units approaching and moving to the rhizomatic part of the head-forming vegetables on the shaft center in the longitudinal direction of the rhizomatic parts. CONSTITUTION:Harvesting hands 5 are provided on a car body (V) equipped with a housing part 4 for head-forming vegetables to be optionally turnable and drivable by a motor (M0) and separately liftable by hydraulic cylinders 7. The harvesting hands 5 are provided with cylindrical members 13 and 14 separately rotatable by electrically-operated motors (M1) and the cylindrical members 13 are equipped with a reversibly rotatable electrically-operated motor (M2). Two set of two vanes 15 in the form of a semicircular arc in the side view having a blade 16 in one set thereof are pivoted on each cylindrical member 14. The four vanes 15 are raised and rocked downward while wholly rotating the harvesting hands 5 with the electrically-operated motors (M1). Rhizomatic parts are cut from the peripheral surfaces with the blades while holding the head-forming vegetables.
