PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the serviceability and the functionality by responding automatically to a called telephone during absence, discriminating and displaying a calling party in accordance with a key operation of the calling party, and also, displaying simply a message from its calling party in accordance with a prescribed rule decided between users. CONSTITUTION:In a call signal detecting circuit 19, a transistor 6 by which a call signal of a prescribed number of times is detected is turned on, and by following it up, a switch 4a is turned on and a speech state is set. In its state, a message signal for informing an automatic incoming is sent out to a calling party from a message generating circuit 20. The calling party executes a prescribed key operation in accordance with the message, and only when a prescribed identification number has been inputted, the calling party is discriminated and displayed, and also, a display signal S5 for displaying the message corresponding to the key operation is formed in a CPU 17. By this display signal S5, a prescribed one of LEDs 29a, 29b for displaying the message is lighted, the message is displayed, and also, a prescribed part of an LED 32 for discriminating the calling party is lighted.
