PURPOSE:To provide a sufficient mechanical strength for cutting and groove working by permitting the fine working with high precision and fine groove working by installing a reinforcing basic body for a metal layer at least on one side surface of the abrasive grain cutting edge layer in hollow band form which is formed through electroplating. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing basic body 8 which has an abrasive grain cutting edge layer 7 in hollow band form which is prepared through electroplating and consists of a metal layer for reinforcing the abrasive grain cutting edge layer 7 at least on one side surface is installed. Since the abrasive grain cutting edge layer 7 in hollow band form is formed through electroplating, a seamless structure can be obtained, and also uneveness and step difference do not exist on the side surface of the abrasive grain cutting edge layer 7, and an exceedingly flat surface can be obtained. Therefore, the fine working with high precision can be carried out. Further, since the thickness of the cutting edge can be maed very thin, fine groove work can be carried out. Further, due to the reinforcement by the reinforcing basic body 8, the sufficient mechanical strength necessary for cutting and groove working can be provided.
