PURPOSE:To erase only the information of its own side leaving the information of a handwritten input device on an opposite, by providing a memory which stores data inputted from the input device and a means which locks the memory at every input device, in the handwritten input device with a communication function. CONSTITUTION:The memories 20A and 20B are provided respectively in the handwritten input devices 1A and 1B. A lock control means 22A is the one to prohibit/permit the erasure(write) of the memory from an opposite terminal, and when the lock-on of the memory is set by operating the means 22A, the readout from the memory of an opposite terminal is prohibited, but the prohibition is released by setting lock-off. A synthesizer 12A synthesizes the readout data of the memory 20A and those of other memories sent via a communication circuit 18, etc., in an on-line operation, and writes synthesized data in a storage means 14A, and displays them on a monitor 16A. Therefore, when the erasure of a picture is performed from the input device 1A, the erasure of the original picture of the memory 20A is performed. Since updated data is synthesized with the content of another memory by the synthesizer 12A, the erasure of the image only inputted to the handwritten input device 1A is performed.
