PURPOSE:To reduce a power consumption by providing a horizontal driving circuit in a solid-state image pickup element side so as to generate the horizontal register driving pulse of the solid-state image pickup element in the solid- state image pickup element side based on one driving pulse transferred from a control unit. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal driving circuit 400 consisting of a logic circuit is disposed at the solid-state image pickup element 103 side so as to generate the driving pulses of plural phases required for driving the horizontal register of the solid-state image pickup element 103 based on one driving clock transmitted through a camera cable 300 from a camera control unit 200. Accordingly, the high frequency signal of the horizontal driving pulse may feed one of the high frequency signals of the reference of the horizontal transfer pulse by a cable and the number of the lines of the camera cable can be reduced. Thereby, the power consumption of the camera control unit side is reduced.
