PURPOSE:To obtain an after image effect by synthesizing a field outputted from a first and a second storing means and outputting an analog composite video signal. CONSTITUTION:The composite video signal is directly digitized to store the one field at intervals of four fields of the digital composite video signal is stored in the first memory 2 and the same field as either one field of field groups stored in the first memory is stored in the second memory 3. According to the output of an address counter, the contents of a designated storing position are respectively read from the second memories 2, 3. The read signal composite video signals are synthesized in an adder 5, a synthesizing signal is supplied to a D/A converter 6, accordingly,the composite video signal having an after image characteristic in which an animation picture is synthesized with a still picture is outputted from the D/A converter 6. Thereby, the composite video signal having the after image characteristic can be obtained with a simple constitution.
