PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal transfer material from staggering or being wrinkled, even when the transfer material has a large width or when the material is fed under high-speed printing, by setting the diameter of end parts of a take-up part of a roll for taking up the thermal transfer material to be larger than the diameter of a central part of the take-up part. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of end parts 3a2 of a take-up part 3 of a roll for taking up a thermal transfer material 5 in a cartridge is set to be slightly greater than the diameter of a central part 3a of the take-up part 3, by forming the end parts 3a2 in a slanted form, by providing the end parts 3a2 with steps or by other means. It is preferable that the diameter of the end parts 3a2 is larger than the diameter of the central part 3a by about 0.2-2 mm. A thin film can be used as a base for the thermal transfer material, and higher efficiency of printing energy and higher printing quality can be contrived. |
