<p>PURPOSE:To increase the image recording speed by shortening a wasteful time, by starting the next printing at the point of time when the pulse control of the n-th gradation is finished on the basis of the detection signal of a wt. detection means when gradation data of the n-th gradation or more is absent. CONSTITUTION:A thermal control part 12 converts input data to be collectively printed to the data suitable for thermal control and this data is image data having a wt. of (N) (herein, 64)-gradations. A gradation data wt. detection counter part 13 detects the wt. of the gradation data from the thermal control part 12 to simultaneously judge whether the data of the max. gradation printed by each block of a thermal head 11 is 33 gradations or more and informs a controller part 14 of the result of judgment. A controller part 14 finishes the printing with the heat generating resistor of the first block at the point of time when the latch pulse of the 33-th gradation is outputted when there is no gradation data of 33 gradations or more in the gradation data to be printed by the heat generating resistor of the first block and the output signal of the wt. detection counter part 13 is inputted and immediately starts the printing with the heat generating resistor of the second block.</p> |
