摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain an image recording apparatus capable of increasing an image recording speed and generating no wrinkles, by setting the voltage applied to the heat generating resistor of a thermal head to a high level before transfer density reaches the transfer density of the m-th gradation but to a low level thereafter on the basis of the judge result of a min. value gradation detection means. CONSTITUTION:In the transfer with the heat generating resistor of each block, a control part 14 transfers gradation data to a line memory 15 from a thermal control part 12 to investigate the output signal of a gradation data wt. detection counter part 13 and performs the transfer of normal 64-gradation data when the min. value Nmin gradation data of the gradation data is data of 32 gradations or less. However, when the min. value Nmin gradation data is data of 33 gradations or more, a power source control part 17 changes over the power source voltage of a thermal head 11 to a high level and returns the same to a low level when the transfer density of the thermal head 11 reaches the density of the 33-th gradation to transfer the data of the 33-th gradation or more. Therefore, an image recording speed can be increased and, at the same time, sufficient gradation of image recording can be taken and no problem generating wrinkles is generated.</p>
