PURPOSE:To prevent generation of flickers by nearly equally setting the total of the dielectric constant and film thickness ratio of an insulating layer group formed on one substrate and the total of the dielectric constant and film thickness ratio of an insulating layer group formed on the other substrate. CONSTITUTION:The film of indium oxide-thin oxide is formed on the glass substrate 1 to form electrodes 2 at 1,000Angstrom film thickness. Polyimide is formed as an oriented layer 3 thereon at 500Angstrom equally on the respective electrodes 2. A gap material 4 and a sealing material 5 are formed after rubbing and a liquid crystal 6 is held in place between the two substrates to form a liquid crystal display device. Polarizing plates 7 are, thereupon, stuck to the top and bottom of the device and a good display grade which does not vary with the polarities of an impressed voltage is thus obtd. when the change in transmittance is measured by a luminance meter in a transmission mode. The generation of the flickers is thereby prevented. |
