PURPOSE:To obtain a material capable of providing a high relative density at a relatively low calcination temp. and having improved strength by molding a powdery material based on calcium phosphate and calcining preliminarily under specified conditions, then calcining finally in the air or in inactive atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:After forming a powdery material basing on calcium phosphate, for formed body is calcined preliminarily in vacuum or under reduced pressure until its relative density attains >=95%. Then, the preliminarily formed body is calcined further and finally in the air or in inactive atmosphere. Suitable powdery material basing on calcium phosphate is Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, Ca3(PO4)2, Ca2P2O7, Ca(PO3)2, Ca10(PO4)6Cl2, etc. The preliminary calcination is carried out pref. in an atmosphere of <1Torr pressure, and the temp. for the preliminary calcination is pref. 100-1,400 deg.C. Obtd. material based on this calcium phosphate is used suitably for a filling material to be used in bones in dental surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, etc. |
