PURPOSE:To secure a perfusion amount without increasing the outer diameter of a sheath, by a method wherein the insert part of a rigid electronic endoscope having a solid image pickup element as an image pickup means is formed so that the diameter of the rearward part from the vicinity of the leading end of said insert part becomes fine to provide a gap between the insert part and the sheath, and said gap is set to a perfusate passage while the outer peripheral surface of the leading end part of the rigid endoscope is brought to an almost planar surface in matching relation to one side of the solid image pickup element to form a perfusion opening part. CONSTITUTION:A rigid electronic endoscope 2 is rigid and has an elongated insert part 3 having a fine diameter and an operating part 4 is provided so as to be connected to said insert part 3 on the rear end side thereof. The insert part 3 is composed of, for example, a metal rigid body having an almost cylindrical shape and consists of a large diameter leading end part 16 and the fine diameter insert part main body 17 provided behind said leading end part 16. A solid image pickup apparatus 22 having a square shape whose one sides is almost parallel to a plane having an opening 19 formed thereto is arranged at the image forming position of an objective lens system 21 and a signal wire 23 is connected to the rear end surface of the solid image pickup apparatus 22. By making the diameter of the insert part main body 17, through which the signal wire 23 and a light guide 24 are inserted, of the insert part 3 of the rigid electronic endoscope 2 finer than that of the leading end part 16, the perfusion passage 32 formed between the insert part main body and the inner peripheral surface of a sheath insert part 7 can be widened without increasing the outer diameter of the sheath insert part 7. |
