New amides containing polyethoxylated chains, processes for their manufacture and their applications. The invention relates to new amides corresponding to the formula: <IMAGE> in which R is a hydrocarbon, fluorocarbon or partially hydrogenated fluorocarbon chain, n and n' are integers, which are identical or different, between 1 and 10; Z and Z' are alkyl or aralkyl groups, which are identical or different, containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. It also relates to processes for the synthesis of these products and their applications, especially as surface-active agents, in particular as emulsifying agents for making microemulsions.
