PURPOSE:To simply discriminate in a short time as to whether the information recorded on a disk is a or by detecting the presence or absence of the signal in the specified state in the timing based on a disk rotating position detection information. CONSTITUTION:When the rotary position of the disk 10 on which a still video information, etc. are recorded is detected by a PG detection part 5, a high level timing signal is outputted from a timing pulse generator 6 by the detection output thereof to open an AND gate 4 and the sector of track at that position is reproduced by a head 9 via a head driving system 7 base well. Then, the start flag for the voice signal record of the signal in the specified state is detected, subject to DC cutting by a capacitor 8 and the output of a detector 3 becomes of L and the decision output showing a voice signal recording from the gate 4 is outputted. On the other hand, the output of the detector 3 becomes of H by the image recording from which no start flag is detected and the image recording is decided via the gate 4. Thus, the recording information of the disk is easily discriminated in a short time as to whether voice or an image.
