PURPOSE:To improve the traveling durability, electromagnetic transducing characteristic, etc., of the title medium by providing a magnetic layer contg. the nonionic surfactant having a perfluoroalkenyl group shown by a specified general formula and irradiated by radiation on a nonmagnetic carrier. CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic recording medium consisting of the nonmagnetic carrier and the magnetic layer contg. a compd. curable mainly by the irradiation of radiation as a binder, a material contg. a nonionic surfactant having a perfluoroalkenyl group shown by the general formula I and irradiated by radiation is used for the magnetic layer. The (meth)acrylate of a vinyl chloride-based polymer, the cellulose-based (meth)acrylate, etc., are exemplified as the binder curable by the irradiation of radiation. In the general formula, a 6-12 C Rf is preferably used, (m) may be 1-25 on the average, and (n) may be 2 or 3.
