PURPOSE:To keep the correspondence of both sound and video signals by providing a erasing mode to erase the video signal and a mode to erase a sound signal to a medium in which the sound signal and the video signal are mixed and recorded. CONSTITUTION:When an erase stand-by mode is obtained by an erase stand-by switch 20 and a head 3 is in an audio track, the reproducing position of the head 3 is moved to a video track corresponding to the track. Next, when there is an audio to correspond to the reproducing video track, it is displayed on a display device 10. Next, at the time of a video erasing mode, when there is not the correspondent audio track, the track is erased at the time point an erase switch 23 is pushed on. At the time of an audio erasing mode, after the head is moved to the correspondent track, the audio sequence is erased. When the erasing mode is not instructed, the audio sequence correspondent to the video track is erased.
