PURPOSE:To execute a program generated for a system of different hardware constitution by detecting the state of the execution of specific instruction by a central processor and an instruction to be executed, and emulating operation based upon the contents of the instruction. CONSTITUTION:This system is equipped with a monitor circuit 17 which detects the central processor 11 fetching the specific instruction, a circuit which detects the fetch and generates a nonmaskable interrupt (NMI) signal, a circuit which stores whether or not the NMI signal is generated when the specific instruction is executed, and a detecting circuit 15 incorporating a circuit which makes the execution of the specific instruction ineffective. Then the state of the execution of the specific instruction by the central processor 1 and the instruction to be executed are detected and the operation based upon the instruction contents is emulated. Consequently, the specific instruction which is executed here can be detected by a high-level pipelined central processor.
