PURPOSE:To improve cleaning performance and durability of the belt cleaner for a conveyor for use with earth and sand, etc., by providing a compressive elastic support of a cleaning body between the cleaning body and a main frame of the belt cleaner so that the elastic support is tilted upward with respect to the cleaning body to hold the cleaning body swingably from both sides in the direction of thickness. CONSTITUTION:A tip 11 of a cleaning body 1 is brought into contact with the surface 5a of a belt 5, and the belt travels in the direction of the arrow 51. Accordingly, deposits on the belt surface 5a are scraped away by the top 11. At this time, the tip 11 swings in the direction of the arrow 53 on a supporting point P adjacent to the underside 21 of an elastic support 2. A lower end portion 10 of the cleaning body simultaneously swings in the direction of the arrow 54, engages with an engagement body 3, and controls the swing of the cleaning body 1. At this time, since the upside and underside 20, 21 of the elastic support 2 are tilted upward, the cleaning body 1 can follow vertical vibration of the belt 5, so that high cleaning effect is obtained. Cleaning performance and durability of the belt cleaner can therefore be improved.
