PURPOSE:To easily detect an erroneous retrieval by counting marks to the final mark and detecting abnormality when the counted value is different from a previously inputted value counted to the final mark in case of retrieval. CONSTITUTION:Information such as a frame number and the number of copies, etc., which are wanted to be retrieved and copied is inputted from a keyboard 51 and transmitted to a storage arithmetic circuit 52. The circuit 52 counts mark detection signals from a mark detecting device 28 and compares the counted value with the previously inputted retrieval frame signal. When they coincide with each other, the circuit 52 transmits a stopping signal to a motor driving circuit 54 so as to stop motors 55 and 56, so that the desirable frame is made to be located on a desirable position. Next, the circuit 52 outputs a signal which executes copying. The mark value of a film wound to the final mark by repeating the above-mentioned actions is compared with the value previously counted in the circuit 52. When difference occurs between the values of the results, the erroneous detection is detected as abnormality.
