PURPOSE:To simply remove the undesired change in the appearing way of sensitivity or noise due to the difference in the insert length of an endoscope by eliminating the necessity for making the internal circuit of an ultrasonic observation apparatus complicated or large-scale, by setting the lengths of signal conductors from the probe to the electric connector in the endoscope so as to make them equal to each other. CONSTITUTION:The coaxial cable bundles 36, 42 respectively connected to both of an ultrasonic probe 23 and a solid image pickup element 38 at one ends thereof are inserted through an endoscope until reaches an electric connec tor 18 through insert parts 13a, 13b, an endoscope operating part 4, a universal cord 15, an endoscope connector 16 and electric cable cords 17a, 17b. All of the signal conductors 35, 40 of the ultrasonic endoscope different in an objective area and the insertion length in the body cavity have the equal total length. Since all of the signal conductors 35, 40 of the ultrasonic endoscope different in the objective area and the insertion length in the body cavity have the equal total length, it is unnecessary to make the internal circuit of an ultrasonic observation apparatus complicated and large-scale.
