PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yard having high flexibility, flat cross-section and improved coverage of sheath yarn, by treating raw silk with a chemical for sericin relaxation and using the treated raw silk as a sheath yarn for winding around a core yarn composed of a thermoplastic synthetic fiber multifilament yarn. CONSTITUTION:Each raw silk filament continuously reeled from a silk reeling bath is subjected to a chemical treatment for sericin relaxation. The treated raw silk is used as a sheath yarn and is introduced together with a core yarn composed of a thermoplastic synthetic fiber multifilament yarn into a covering machine and wound around the core yarn to obtain the objective composite yarn. The sericin relaxation treatment is preferably carried out by using an oil. |
