PURPOSE:To prepare an electrotransfer type printing head capable of achieving the enhancement of image quality simultaneously with cost reduction, by applying the electrolytic precipitation of nickel to the copper layer of a base material being a glass epoxy double-side copper clad laminate plate to form an electrode pin having a desired size and chamfering the end surface of the electrode pin to form the plane brought into contact with a pixel and applying surface curving treatment to the corner part thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a printing head 7, a plurality of electrode pins 17 each formed by laminating hard nickel 16 having Vickers hardness (Hv) of 400 or more are formed on the copper foil 14, which is left on one surface of a base material composed of a glass epoxy double-side copper clad laminate plate having bending modulas of elasticity of 800-2500 kg/mm<2> by etching, so as to form the surface of each of the electrode pins into a planar shape having a width W and to be arranged in parallel so as to provide a gap (g) each other therebetween and the leading end surface 17a of each pin is formed so as to have accuracy of 45+ or -1 deg. with respect to the surface of the base material 14 as the contact surface of a electrotransfer ribbon 5. Further, a curved surface is formed to the corner part 17b of each electrode pin 17 to prevent the damage of the electrode pin due to the contact with the electrotransfer ribbon 5. The relatively inexpensive base material 14 being the glass epoxy double-side copper clad laminate plate is used to make it possible to inexpensively manufacture the highly accurate printing head. |
