PURPOSE:To enhance a printing speed and to save the consumption quantity of a printing ribbon, by constituting the title apparatus so that a bold printing control means performs usual printing when a discrimination means identifies a character or mark unsuitable for bold printing. CONSTITUTION:A control apparatus C is constituted by a CPU 30 and the ROM 40 and RAM 50 connected to the CPU 30 through a data bus. The code data of a character/mark unsuitable for bold printing and, therefore, not subjected to bold printing even under a bold printing mode is stored in the bold prohibiting data memory 41 of the ROM 40. A bold prohibiting data pointer 54 addresses the bold prohibiting data memory 41 when a bold printing setting key is operated to search for bold prohibiting data is provided to the RAM 50 in addition to various memories for temporarily storing the result operationally processed by the CPU 30. In the case of a character or mark suitable for bold printing, it is subjected to bold printing but, in the case of a character or mark unsuitable for bold printing, usual printing is performed. |
