PURPOSE:To attain many functions with a simple constitution by multiplexing in time division a video signal picked up and formed by a camera part and a video signal reproduced by a VTR part. CONSTITUTION:When the multiplex mode is set, a system controller 13 switches change-over switches 11, 12. Because of this switching, a reproduced video signal from a frequency multiplex circuit 31 is written is a field memory 37 through the switch 11. Meanwhile, an image pickup video signal from the camera part is supplied to a switch 15 through the switch 12. Thereafter, a reproduced video signal in a memory 37 is read out and supplied to the switch 15. And by the switching action of the switch 15, the image pickup video signal and a reproduced video signal are multiplexed with each other, and outputted to an output terminal 40 through a change-over switch 16. In such a way, a special effect can be added to a reproduced output video signal easily.
