PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body superior in sensitivity and potential stability at the time of repeated uses and having sensitivity up to a long wavelength region by incorporating a specified azo pigment in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The azo pigment contained in the photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate is an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic hetero ring substituted by an organic group represented by the formula in which each of R1 and R2 is H, nitro, cyano, halogen, halomethyl, substituted amino, or optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be improved in carrier generating efficiency and carrier transfer efficiency in the inside of the photosensitive layer, superior in sensitivity and photential stability at the time of repeated uses by the presence of trisazo pigment, and wide in spectral sensitivity up to a long wavelength region. |
