PURPOSE:To perform ribbon feed smoothly still more by bringing the ink ribbon densely received immediately behind the roller in a ribbon cartridge to a uniform receiving state, by inserting the thin plate mounted to a carrier in the fine groove provided to the ribbon cartridge fixed to a frame to allow the same to run. CONSTITUTION:When a carrier 2 moves in the left direction, the end surface 10a of the thin plate 10 in the fine groove 12 of a ribbon cartridge 11 moves to the left along with the carrier 2 and the ink ribbon 13 received in the ribbon cartridge 11 is moved so that the end surface 10a of the thin plate 10 hooks with said end surface 10a to draw the ink ribbon 13 becoming dense immediately behind a roller to the left and the density of the ink ribbon 13 in the cartridge 11 is made uniform. When the carrier 2 moves in the right direction, a current is supplied to a coil 6 to attract an armature 7 along a support 8 and the end surface 10a of the thin plate 10 is detached from the fine groove 12 and moved without impinging against the ink ribbon to hold the density of the ink ribbon 13 in the ribbon cartridge 11 to a uniform state without pulling back the ink ribbon 13 made near to the left.
