PURPOSE:To enable a suitable video processing in a reproducer even when the kind of an image pickup device varies by accumulating information relating to the picture element number and color separation of the image pickup area of the image pickup device in a memory connected to the device through a connection means. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 24 gives an instruction as to the picture element number of the image cell array 28 of the image pickup device 22 to a control output 180, and gives an instruction as to the arrangement of the color filter segments to a control output 182 respectively. A code generator 184 outputs a signal representing codes in accordance with these instructions to a connector 14 through a switch circuit 192. Also, the control circuit 24 outputs a control signal to its output 54, and said code signals are accumulated in the memory 90 by this signal. Accordingly, even if the kind of the image pickup device 22 varies, a suitable video processing can be attained by the reproducer.
