PURPOSE:To obtain a video camera that enables even a blind person to pick up the image of a desired subject by providing a electromechanical transducing means constituted of plural picture elements that shift mechanically in the direction crossing with the screen corresponding to the amplitude of a video signal. CONSTITUTION:A video signal B outputted from the signal processing circuit 4 of an image pickup means 9 is applied to the electromechanical transducing means 10 constituted of the plural picture elements that shift mechanically in the direction crossing with the screen corresponding to the amplitude of the video signal. The means 10 consists of a signal conversion part 11 and a display device 12, and the device 12 is constituted of the plural picture elements in matrix shape that mechanically shift in the direction crossing with the display screen. Each picture element is made up of, for instance, a piezoelectrical element, and each element is selected by a horizontal and a vertical shift registers and moves corresponding to the amplitude of the signal B, accordingly, an image corresponding to the amplitude of the signal B is displayed in the device 12 by unevenness. As a result, by touching the screen of the device 12 with a hand 20, the person can recognize the picked-up image.
