PURPOSE:To manufacture a low-cost composite body whose magnetic shielding effect for a transformer or the like is excellent by a method wherein a low-cost and easily obtainable superconducting particle is combined with a high polymer material and concrete which are suitable for the manufacture of a large-sized product or a product of complicated shape. CONSTITUTION:A metal-oxide-related superconductor is pulverized to manufacture particles; these particles are mixed with an epoxy resin, a polyester resin or the like; a glass cloth or the like is impregnated with this mixture. This impregnated glass cloth is stuck to a metal mold or a wooden form which has been designed separately; it is piled up; a bubble is removed; after these processes, the glass cloth is hardened; a container 7 of a composite body containing superconducting particles is prepared. An iron core 3 where a primary winding 1 and a secondary winding 2 are wound is accommodated inside the container 7; an insulating coolant 6 such as liquid nitrogen, liquid helium or the like is filled. A heat-insulating material 8 such as a vacuum heat-insulating material, a foamed material or the like is attached to the external circumference of the container 7.
