PURPOSE:To contrive a reduction in the size of a composite printed board and a decrease in the thickness of the board by a method wherein the board consists of a main board formed with notch parts and subboards, which are arranged in such a way as to be mounted in nearly the same planar form and are each mounted with an electronic component, and wiring patterns which are connected to the wiring patterns of the main board are formed on one side of the subboards. CONSTITUTION:First and second notch parts 4 and 5 are formed on a main board 1 as openings that a board 1a is notched in nearly a square form. By making boards 2 and 3 fit into these notch parts 4 and 5 to mount in nearly the same planar form, the thickness of this composite printed board becomes thin. Joint parts 10 and 11 are provided a plurality in number on the side edges of the notch part 4 of the main board 1 corresponding to joint pins 15 and 16 of the board 2 and are conducted with the above joint pins 15 and 16 so as to be able to connect electrically the board 2 and the main board 1. Moreover, jumper patterns, which are wiring patterns having no connection entirely with an electronic component, are provided on the board 2 and even though the area for forming the wiring patterns is decreased on the main board 1, wiring patterns in the same case as a case where there is not the notch part 4 can be formed on the main board 1.
