PURPOSE:To enable high-speed printing, by writing print patterns into a print pattern storage element row with sequential shifting, and sending the patterns to a dot head driver through controlling an energization time width when writing into the final stage in the storage element row is finished. CONSTITUTION:Print patterns outputted from a printing data generator 1 are stored into a printing data storage device 2. When the print pattern is written into a print pattern storage element row 2-1, the subsequent print patterns are shifted in the direction from the storage element row 2-1 toward the storage element row 2-N each time the pattern is written into the storage element row 2-1. When the print pattern is written into the final stage 2-N in the storage element rows, a signal is generated from the storage element row 2-N to the pattern generator 1, and the patterns latched by the storage element rows are sequentially sent to a dot head driver 4 through controlling an energization time width by gates 3. Thus, buffering of the print patterns can be performed, and enhancement of a dot head driving frequency can be accelerated.
