PURPOSE:To enhance waterproof effect and water resistance by infiltrating a liquid diene group polymer containing hydroxyl groups and a polyisocyanate compound into a wood piece after compression molding the wood piece wherein a liquid polymeric composition is blended, and subjecting it to a hardening treatment. CONSTITUTION:To a wood piece of around 1-100mm, a liquid diene polymer of 300-25,000 number average molecular weight containing hydroxyl groups within or, at the end of the molecular chain is blended, and then it is compression molded with 50-500kg/cm<2> of compression molding pressure at 15-150 deg.C of molding temperature for approximately 5-120min. Next, a liquid polymerized composition containing polyole compound and polyamine compound is applied or infiltrated and subjected to a hardening treatment. A plate material thus obtained has a sufficient mechanical strength and is of superior waterproof effect and water resistance.
