In a method for measuring proportions of combustible gas of low concentration in mine air by means of a gas-chromatographic column, downstream of which there is connected a detector, it is provided according to the invention that a part of the proportions of combustible gas present in the gas sample to be analysed is burnt in a catalytically active element which is to be heated periodically, after which, after each heating process, the gas sample is sucked through the gas-chromatographic column in which it is resolved into individual gas constituents which are fed to the detector which, from the periodic concentration change of the proportions of combustible gas, generates a measurement signal and feeds this to an electronic processor.
