Exhaust dyeing of cellulose material with alkaline-fixable, water-soluble reactive dyes (I) is carried out with automatically controlled addn. to the bath of the alkali required for the dyeing, within a predetermined time interval. The addn. ismade (nearly) continuously according to a specified, linear time-vol. function, using an aq. alkali soln. the concn. of which progressively increases during the process. ADVANTAGE - This method is simpler than that described in EP 12602, which requires microprocessor control of the amt. of alkali soln. added.
