PURPOSE:To improve magnetic permeability and C/N in a trend toward higher frequency bands of a VTR by adding tin oxide and calcium oxide to a material consisting of ferric oxide, zinc oxide and manganese oxide. CONSTITUTION:1-3mol.% Tin oxide and 0.1-0.5mol.% calcium oxide are added in combination to the material consisting, by molar per cent, of 50-70mol.% ferric oxide, 10-20mol.% zinc oxide and 25-35mol.% manganese oxide. Namely, the noises specific to ferrite are reduced and the C/N of a mag netic head is improved by adding the tin oxide to the single crystal ferrite of an Mn-Zn system. The specific resistance and magnetic permeability are improved by adding the calcium oxide thereto. Sufficient dealing with the higher density recording accompanied with the trend toward the higher frequency bands is thereby enabled. |
