PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide compound superconductive wire capable of constituting an electric circuit element with a complex shape by heat-treating a wire rod formed by face reduction-machining the whole covering tube linearly while feeding the oxygen gas between an oxygen-nonpermeable pipe and the wire rod. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of multiple kinds of powder including elements capable of synthesizing an oxide compound superconductor is stored in a covering tube made of copper, silver, or silver alloy, and the whole covering tube is face reduction-machined linearly. The wire rod formed in this process is stored in an oxygen-nonpermeable pipe covered with an insulating material on the outside, the heat treatment is applied while the oxygen gas is fed between the oxygen-nonpermeable pipe and the wire rod, and a compound superconductive layer is formed in the wire rod. If the pipe and wire rod are heat-treated after they are formed into the shape of a desired electric circuit element, e.g., coil shape, no crack or distortion occurs on a compound superconductive layer thus formed, and a compound superconductive wire electrically insulated on the outside is obtained. |
