PURPOSE:To efficiently find trouble which is difficult for a beginner to find by diagnosing a source program in accordance with program syntax rules into which knowledges of an expert of a system are collected. CONSTITUTION:This system consists of a source program input mechanism 1, a knowledge information storage mechanism 2 in which information of a keyword included in the source program is stored as knowledge information, an automatic syntax deciding mechanism 3 which diagnoses the source program on the basis of said knowledge information, and a diagnosis result output mechanism 4. First, it is checked whether the keyword on the source program is registered as knowledge information or not. If it is found, the program is diagnosed on the basis of knowledge information related to this keyword. When the program is regarded as equal to knowledge information, error and its cause are outputted.
