发明名称 MULTIPLE OPTICAL FIBER CABLE SPLICER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a multiple optical fiber splicer having interchangeability between ferrules and capable of reducing the axial deviation between optical fibers by simply assembling the splicer only a pair of ferrules, an aligning sleeve and a pair of compression coil springs in addition to a storing member. CONSTITUTION:The optical fibers 1a, 1b are inserted and fixed into/on the ferrules 2a, 2b and the end faces of the optical fibers 1a, 1b are finished by grinding. Then, 2nd cylindrical parts 4a, 4b of the ferrules 2a, 2b are inserted into the aligning sleeve 7 and abutted on the end faces of the optical fibers 1a, 1b. While relatively rotating a pair of ferrules under said state, a connection loss is measured to find out a relative rotary position obtaining the minimum connection loss. When the ferrules 2a, 2b are inserted into the notch grooves 13a, 13b of the storing member 9 and set up in a storing room, the teech grooves 6a, 6b of flanges 5a, 5b of the ferrules 2a, 2b are engaged with a teech groove 11 and the relative rotating position of a pair of ferrules 2a, 2b is fixed at a position having the minimum connection loss. Consequently, optical fiber connection having stable connection characteristics can be obtained in spite of time passage or environmental changes.
