PURPOSE:To improve the color reproducibility and the photographic characteristics of the titled material by providing with an emulsion layer contg. a specified magenta coupler and a plane silver halide particle having a specified mean particle size and a specified aspect ratio on the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The titled material comprises at least one emulsion layer contg. the magenta coupler shown by formula I and the plane silver halide particle which has the mean particle size of 0.2-0.6mum and the mean value of the diameter/the thickness (the aspect ratio) of >=5. In formula I, Z is a nonmetal atomic group necessary for forming a nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic ring, and a ring capable of forming with group Z may be substituted, X is hydrogen atom or a group capable of releasing by allowing to react with the oxidant of a color developing main agent, R is hydrogen atom or a substituting group. Thus, the color reproducibility and the photographic characteristics of the titled material are improved. |
