<p>A baking oven (8) has two baking spaces (14, 20) in which the supports (3) carrying the pieces of dough (2) are conveyed in a stack in opposite directions by two conveyor devices (12). A horizontal chain conveyor (7) for introducing or withdrawing the supports (3) through an opening (9) is located below the two conveyor devices (12). The lower part of the two baking spaces (14, 20) is scaled by seals (34) which are sealingly applied to the stacked supports (3), thereby preventing escape of the atmosphere in the baking space from the baking oven. On each stack (25) of supports (3) conveyed upwards after introduction through the opening (9), a further seal (35) is located over these seals (34), and together with the first-mentioned seal (34) forms a sealed space (36) into which a steam feed pipe (37) opens thereby forming an oven baking space.</p> |
