<p>A detonation detector (10) which can be secured directly or indirectly to an internal combustion engine has an injection moulded housing (30). In order to isolate the seismic mass (19) and the piezoelectric element (16) from parasitic mechanical vibrations, the seismic mass (19) and the piezoelectric element (16) are surrounded by a rubber cap (28) made of a softer material than that of the injection moulded housing (30). The sensitivity of the detonation detector is thereby increased, and its characteristic curve becomes almost linear.</p> |
