There is a floor covering, in the case of which a plurality of elongated, narrow web pieces 1, capable of being rolled up, with a width of 2.5 m or less are arranged one beside the other and have a carpet 3 at the top, and in the case of which a damping layer 4 made of plastic foam is applied on the underside of the carpet 3 and an anti-slip cover 5 is provided on the underside of the damping layer 4, strips 8 of touch-and-close fastener, which bridge the gap 2 between adjacent web pieces 1, being provided. In this arrangement, it is desired to provide improved damping using touch-and-close fastener. This is achieved in that the carpet 3 applied on the plastic-foam damping layer 4 is formed from velours and if baize strips 7, to which the strips 8 of touch-and-close fastener are assigned, are arranged on the underside of the damping layer 4 in openings 8 of the anti-slip cover 5. There is a connection, adapted to the layering of velours carpet and foam damping layer, of web pieces by means of gap-bridging, detachably adhering adhesive strips. <IMAGE>
