A stable polyvinyl chloride/polyol dispersion containing from 1 to 50% by eight of polyvinylchloride and having a viscosity lower than 10,000 mPa.s characterized in that the polyvinylchloride is in the form of preformed particles soaked by the polyol of the dispersions, and has a particle size of from 1 to 10 micrometres. The dispersion may be prepared by the steps of (a) dispersing polyvinylchloride in a polyol by mechanical stirring; and (b) milling the so-obtained dispersion by means of repeated passes through a milling machine. o
