PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent magnetooptics effect, environmental stability and mechanical strength by using a magnetooptics material expressed by a special composition formula to a magnetic optical thin film. CONSTITUTION:The material is a magnetooptics thin film material expressed by a composition formula (PtaMnbSbc)1-x0x basically and 0.01<=x<=0.20, 0.7<=a<=1.2, 0.7<=b<=1.7 and 0.7<=c<=1.6 (provided that a+b+c=3) is obtained. Further, in the atmosphere to added oxygen, the thin film is formed on the substrate of a temperature of <=500 deg.C than it, and the thin film is thermal- processed by 150 deg.C-700 deg.C. Thus, a thin film material having a large magnetic optical effect, a good environmental stability and an excellent mechanical strength can be obtained.
