PURPOSE:To effectively avoid a water stain or a dry stain on the surface of an article by bringing the article into contact with the first solvent flow of low boiling point hydrocarbon halide, and then dipping it in a liquid or vapor bath of second solvent of low boiling point hydrocarbon halide to be dissolved or dispersed with water. CONSTITUTION:An article is brought into contact with the first solvent flow of low boiling point hydrocarbon halide to remove in advance approx. 18% or more, or preferably approx. 90% or more of the moisture on the surface of the article. Then, it is dipped in the second solvent liquid or vapor bath of low boiling point hydrocarbon halide. The first solvent is preferably solvent which is not dissolved or dispersed in water, i.e., low boiling point hydrocarbon halide solvent. The second solvent is preferably low boiling pint hydrocarbon halide solvent which can be dissolved or dispersed in water, i.e., inflammable mixture solvent of low boiling point hydrocarbon halide solvent and water soluble organic liquid or surface active agent, such as low boiling point alcohols. The low boiling point hydrocarbon halide solvent preferably uses 1,1,2- trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, and the low boiling point alcohols preferably use methanol.
