In the case of vacuum switch housings, it is intended to reduce considerably the number of solder joints which have to be carried out in a vacuum-tight manner and also have to remain vacuum-tight over the entire operating life. The specified object is acheived especially by the following three measures: 1. A folding cup 30 is used for the vacuum-tight insertion of the movable current-conductor bolt into the vacuum switch housing. 2. The tubular connecting stubs on the wall of metal switching chambers or on the stationary current-conductor bolts are eliminated, together with their various covering and protection caps. A vacuum-tight plug 25 is fitted, instead of them, in the evacuation hole in the stationary current-conductor bolt. 3. Particularly in the case of insulating-material switching chambers, the metal-vapour condensation screens are eliminated and are replaced by ribs 18 on the inner surface. <IMAGE>
