A process serves for injection moulding a conical winding core for yarns and filaments. A liquid plastic is injected into a hollow-conical cavity (39) of an injection mould (30). To achieve the most uniform possible material distribution in the finished injection-moulded winding core, so that the unbalance of the winding core is minimised and the achievable operating speed is maximised, the plastic is injected from an end face of the winding core to be injection moulded into the cavity (39) in a direction (40) essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis (41) of the winding core. <IMAGE>
