ARAMID FIBER REINFORCED PHENOL RESIN COMPOSITION

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition consisting of aramid fiber surface- modified with a compound having a functional group reaction to phenol and phenol resin, capable of uniformly dispersing the fiber without causing aggregation by itself and also having good adhesion of the fiber with the resin. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition consisting of (A) surface-modified aramid fiber obtained by combining the surface of the aramid composed of repeating units expressed by formula I and/or formula II (Ar1-Ar3 are aromatic group) with sodium using sodium hydride and then subjecting the modified aramid to N-substitution reaction with a compound (e.g. monobromoacetic acid) reactive to sodium and having a functional group (preferably COOH, OH, etc.) reactive to phenol and (B) reactive phenol resin (e.g. resol type low molecular weight prepolymer) and preferably obtained by blending 1-90pts.wt. component A with 99-1pts.wt. component B and as necessary curing agent, etc.
