摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a shock of speed-change from being generated in an automatic transmission of the type, in which a non-stage transmission is directly connected with a staged sub-transmission by controlling the flow of hydraulic oil at the time of a power-on down-shift and a power-off down-shift most suitably. CONSTITUTION:This automatic transmission for vehicles is designed in such a manner that a clutch 74 for the low-speed stage for changing a gear to the No.1 gear stage (low-speed gear stage) is operated by the No.1 hydraulic actuator, and a clutch 72 for the high-speed stage for changing the gear to the No.2 gear stage (high-speed gear stage) is operated by the No.2 hydraulic actuator. In the case of this type of transmission, when the automatic transmission for vehicles is changed from a high-speed gear stage to a low-speed gear stage through causing the hydraulic oil to act on at least either one of the No.1 actuator and the No.2 actuator in an alternative way, the quantity of hydraulic oil supplied to the No.1 hydraulic actuator is varied in relation to the power transmission state of the vehicle.
